For the ones of you who are too lazy to make one themselves (and also for myself), I created an app like shortcut for Google Chrome which leads directly to the website. I am not sure if it works with Chromium too, but if there are any users of Chromium out there, just download the .rar file and check it out. For installing: unpack the .rar file to any place, and: right click > open with > select in a list > Google Chrome Then accept the warning. Don't delete the .pem file, because I don't know what effect that will have. Once the shortcut is installed, you'll most likely have to log in on the site once, but then you should be fine. Any questions should be asked here. This didn't take me much more than a few minutes to make, so any "thank you" would be out of place. Thread is made sticky, because it might be useful for the digilliterates under us. A poll is implemented because it doesn't use much space anyway. UPDATE: Forgot the file. Turns out to be .zip because of technical problems.
Well, I haven't used Chrome in a while (it stopped working for some reason, so I switched to FireFox), but does it allow you to place your favourites in the bar below the address bar? FireFox has this function, so it's quite easy to use that if anyone's using FireFox.
It's super easy to do in Chrome too. All you have to do is click the star in the URL bar... Plus I visit the site so much that it is listed in my most frequently visited sites whenever I open a new tab. Getting to JVS takes a few seconds, tops and I never have to type it in.
I guess it might help newcomers, but I just have to type in the letter j and the rest appears for all browsers that I use.
Same deal for me, but it might be useful for the ones who have applications as their new tab page. I don't know, I already had it laying round anyway.
It does have one. It also has your most frequently visited sites every time you open a new tab and the site is there for me.
That reminds me of the hilarious time when Ninja Buffalo learned that feature the hard way. Have yet to laugh so much at a post here.
Yes it does, and so does it have a most visited page. It depends on what you like best, so people who like the shortcuts best can use this. Way to kill yet another well meant initiative.
