After reading trough a bit and asking some questions it's seems like the beta is optimal for mp games because it is ALLOT more stable, fixing several crashes from broken event chains. They also say that the game is more balanced and that minor nations such as Mittleafrika is more fleshed out, before the beta they had the problem of not having enough tech teams.
Yar, definitely 1.3 beta. It adds a heap of stuff, fixes loads of crashes, and generally just fleshes out stuff a lot more.
