Whatever Makes You Happy

Whatever Makes You Happy

@Jericho235 I dunno, that's why I think Josef should make a video of it! ;)
But there must be other ways, and maybe it's just more relevant NOT to make any general separation!

Interesting concepts your dealing with though there is one part that I think is not explored. How we define happiness in our mind, how our concept of happiness and what makes us happy is developed and how you can you change your idea of what makes you happy( possibly cognitive therapy). I've heard of the idea of Imprinting, seeing something at a young age and your mind sets that as the standard what ever it is representing in your mind and the longer it is imprinted in your mind the stronger the idea is. I've heard that many people who have sexual fetish's saw some sort of erotica as a child and from that point on believed that's how you have sex or that's what is sexually attractive.

Anyways in regards to stress it seems that for many people where I come from stress comes from failure and school is an excellent example of this. When somebody at school fails a test they most usually are unhappy about it and many times will become worried if it compromises their average. Though many times I wonder why they are agitated by their low grades, especially if that person is known to slack off. Why did they feel the need to do well on that test? I use to feel stressed out about getting bad grades on a test in fear that my parents would become irate and take away something from me or put me in an uncomfortable position and I feel for many other of my fellow students this is still true. Though for many others an alternative source of anxiety arises. Many people conclude that they may not be able to do what they want to do with their life because their grades reflect poorly of them. This seems more logical of an explanation to me as if they don't do well on their tests they may not be able to do something that gives them pleasure. Though of course the logic in that argument hinges on the idea that what they want to do makes them happy or enables them to be happy.

I feel compelled to stop writing here as if I continue I will fill two or three pages of comments, I hope you feel better JVS about yourself through this cognitive therapy which sounds very interesting and hope that what drives you to achieve truly will make you happy good sir.
I bid you a good day.

    Something I learned about happiness.

Its not what it is but who it is with. At least with me, I have a great mood when I hang out with my friends and family. Everybody cares about making big bucks, everybody cares about getting a job, they care about all this stuff... and we call this living? Live the life by enjoying life, and if you live your life worrying instead of loving then you are left behind.

Then again, I have an abnormally optimistic view and often find myself enjoying life with my friends at the behalf of strangers, usually at McDonald's drive-thrus. But thats not the point I want to make.

Enjoy life for what it is instead of spending life trying to live it.

Instead of the individual consistently incriminating themselves for unfortunate events, they should find the appropriate responsive mechanism to possibly confront or alleviate the issue. Stalin doesn't appear depressed or expressions that would indicate that he's suffering from a depressive state.... However I still believe him regardless.

It would amuse me immensely if Spencer(AKA Stalin) engaged in a two persepected contoversial heated debate for one of these coffeehouse episodes.

Suggestion for the next coffeehouse vid' :

Is the division between left and right-wing parties the most relevant division, especially now that the cold war is over?

Understand that you don't have to have life planned out straight after graduation or plan to be driving towards great success so soon. Just as the rational school of thought that cognitive psychology teaches, it is completely rational to say that you should probably get the basics set down first like a steady job (can even just be labour), a group of friends that you get together once a week with for breakfast out or something, and a personal leisure pursuit.
After you have those basics narrowed down you should be living comfortably enough that when you consider what you what the future to hold you won't have other things on you mind like exam marks, rent money, and other distractions that may affect your judgement.
Leave the idea that life has to be figured out from start to finish to fundamentalists, just get comfy and throw around ideas for a while and then work towards them in manageable steps.
You are a smart man and have already made effort to accept that the world won't reject you that you have no real plan, now take the final steps in that act and make a plan that incorporates it.

We all love you mate and I am sure that if you asked anyone one of us from abroad about possible job openings we would be more than happy to find that out for you.

You should read Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman". It is about what happens when a man realizes that he has not and cannot attain the so called "American dream". If your not into theater, the 1985 movie was a good adaptation. Though, if your feeling depressed you might not want to read and/or see it. It is not a happy story. There is hope, but it's more of a hard truth.

Of course, stupid people (the majority sadly), no offence, need the carrots and sticks to function in society, that's why they exist. So for society as a whole, this idea won't work, bassically because people usually are to dumb to figure out whats best about them.

But anyways, good luck on your quest for happiness.

PS. you said something about a teaching job in Korea & Georgia in one of the LP's, is that not still a plausible option? (Or is that information heavily outdated, cause i just remembered it now)
